Last of the Audubon Line

The Descendants of John Woodhouse Audubon

128 pages, 6 x 9", hardcover, pictures, illustrations.

The author, the great-great-great grandson of American Artist and naturalist John James Audubon, traces the line of John Woodhouse Audubon. In 1917 the work Audubon the Naturalist, a biography of John James Audubon, included a footnote on the line of John Woodhouse Audubon descendants. There are a number of genealogical errors that the author has tried to correct in this new book. Many records were examined and the following surnames were searched: Audubon, Tyler, Baldwin, Brennan, Hall, Comstock, Shufeldt, Bakewell, Baker, Bacon and Murray.

Like his relatives he takes pride in his Audubon heritage, but he is also interested in his great-great-great-grandmother's Baldwin line He was disappointed in not finding more information about Margaret J. Baldwin. The author is making a standing offer of $500.00 to anyone who can provide him with detailed information about the early life and later years of Margaret J. Baldwin.
