This volume is actually three books in one, each part organized around three progenitors. There is an Index of Names for each part.

• Part 1: Thomas Bays (1798-1886) and a separate chapter for each of Thomas' 15 children, most covered for five generations, excluding his son Isaac Runols Bays.
• Part 2: Isaac Runols Bays (1822-1888) and a separate chapter for each of Isaac's 15 children, most covered for five generations, excluding his son Richard Madison Bays.
• Part 3: Richard Madison Bays (1851-1924) and a separate chapter for each of Richard's 13 children, most for five generations.
