Fergusons & Finchers of Jackon County, Alabama and Beyond follows the descendants of William (Abraham?) Ferguson and son William Isaac Ferguson, who was born in Virginia, came through Tennessee and died in Alabama.
The Fincher line starts with Francis Fincher and travels from Worcester, England to Pennsylvania through North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
The Ferguson and Finchers came to America in search of religious freedom and a better life. They were hard-working and fiercely independent people. Faced with isolation, their families became close knit with their lives revolved around home, church, school and the farm.
They bequeathed us the desire to overcome hardships and become self-sufficient. We owe them a great debt of gratitude. We honor their sacrifices and cherish their examples of great faith and hard work.
