Johann George Huntzinger/Hunsinger

Sons George and Bernard, Of Eastern Pennsylvania And Some Of Their Descendants

280 pages, 6 x 9", hardcover, indexed.

This book begins with the immigration of Johann George Huntzinger into the city of Philadelphia in 1749, his presence up the Schuylkill River into "Berks County north of the Blue Mountains" in the early 1750s and his two sons, George II (1751-1802) and Bernard (ca. 1753-1832) who served in the Berks County Militia during the Revolutionary War and where they settled in Pennsylvania.

George II and Bernard applied for land as the commonwealth grew and formed new counties, George remaining in the area where his father settled with some of his children and others who went west into Indiana. Bernard moved on to Northumberland, Columbia, and Luzerne Counties, Pennsylvania. Three of his sons stayed in Luzerne County and others moved north into Sullivan County.

All of Bernard's children have been traced, some families down to the 1920 census and others to present day descendants. Plus there are contributions by many family members.

Over 900 Huntzinger/Huntsinger/Hunsinger names, allied families: Bahl, Erle, Drescher/Thrasher, Potter, Steele, Ruppert, Neuber, Weaver/Weber, Winslow and more.
